Riverbed Advances Its Application And Network Management Tools
Riverbed Technology has announced the launch of SteelCentral AppResponse 9.0 and Riverbed SteelCentral NetProfiler 10.6.
Riverbed, a leader in application performance infrastructure , unveiled the new solution as part of its SteelCentral product family, formerly known as OPNET and Cascade. The pair combine user experience, application and network performance management to detect and resolve issues before end users notice.
Among the new capabilities that AppResponse 9.0 and NetProfiler 10.6 boast is simplified web application monitoring. This enables IT teams to share data more easily, identify trends faster and make performance data more relevant to users.
Other new features of the releases include a web console, out-of-the-box and customisable dashboard templates and a global view of the end-user experience. These are all geared towards providing IT teams with improved visibility over applications and networks, thereby allowing them to spot any problems before they become an issue for the end user, in turn boosting IT and company efficiency.
Nik Koutsoukos, senior director of product marketing for SteelCentral, commented on the new releases: “Users expect and businesses rely on network operations teams to ensure optimal performance for critical applications – otherwise, employees can’t work, product developers miss deadlines, sales can’t sell and customers don’t buy."
“Effectively managing network performance in today’s globally complex networks – that include data centres, public and private clouds and virtualised environments – requires an integrated view that gives all relevant teams visibility into and control over network and application performance… only Riverbed can deliver true end-to-end visibility and solve latency and bandwidth issues.”
