Riverbed Joins Microsoft Azure Certified Programme
Riverbed Technology has become one of the first partners to join the new Microsoft Azure Certified programme.
The leader in application performance infrastructure can now offer its Riverbed SteelHead product as a Microsoft Azure-certified solution. This means that SteelHead CX infrastructure-as-a-service clouds can be deployed as an Azure virtual machine, managed by the Azure Management Portal.
The advancement in the partnership between Riverbed and Microsoft promises to deliver superior application performance while also improving productivity and reducing costs for customers. The optimised delivery of applications from Azure is estimated to now be 33 times faster and require 97 per cent less bandwidth.
Paul O’Farrell, senior vice president and general manager of SteelHead Products Group at Riverbed, said: “With the cloud gaining traction across a multitude of business functions, organisations need to run their applications in a hybrid environment and are turning to services like Azure.
“Regardless of where an application is hosted, it needs to perform to the satisfaction of the end-user. SteelHead’s optimisation and acceleration capabilities help deliver that ideal end-user experience, while enabling cost saving and higher productivity. We’re delighted to be among the first companies to kick off the programme. Together Riverbed and Microsoft are delivering mission-critical applications across infrastructure-as-a-service faster than ever before.”
The Microsoft Azure Certified programme is designed to make it easy to find solutions that are Azure-integrated. SteelHead is one of few products that can boast a place on this inaugural list, thereby making it easier for the customer base to take their applications to the cloud and integrate them Azure.
